Match no. 726. Football League Cup. First visit to St Andrews. On business in Birmingham that week so went with some work colleagues. Poured with rain all evening, seats near front behind the goal. Another Brummie drenching! Simon Sturridge scored for City, Andy Gray equalised for Palace who eventually won a second replay 2-1 after another 1-1 draw.
