Match no. 500. A bumper crowd on the day after Boxing Day. Ex-Hammers Mervyn Day and Tommy Taylor were in the O''s line-up which also included such well known names as Stan Bowles and Peter Taylor. Hammers took the lead through Pat Holland after 65 minutes with John Chiedozie equalising 6 minutes later. Paul Allen came on as a sub with 20 minutes to go and scored the winner with a 25-yarder 6 minutes from time.
