Across by train from Henley with Graham Eden along on the spare ticket (bought for Simon). Relatively warm and dry which was good considering the 15 minutes walk from Putney Bridge tube station and waiting around for Petrocity Graham.
Great return for me to Craven Cottage after a gap of a mere 49 years. It looks much the same from Stevenage Road where the same old stand wall is still there and the view over the wall at the cottage itself. Inside is a lot different now with the new ends and Riverside stand (where we were).
A tremendous atmosphere with the West Ham supporters filling the Putney end and giving their team fgantastic vociferous support. All in all a very good game with lots of skill (especially Dimitar Berbatov) and goal a-plenty.
In summary a great ground and overall a happy and friendly atmosphere. Loved it all - even the missing of 2 goals early in the second half while buying Charlie a hot chocolate.
Seemed like a long way home and a bit cold but smiling all the way with my new favourite scarf.
