Comments :
The Bees first competitive game at Crawley resulted in a hard fought win. It should have been so much easier though. The hosts were reduced to 10 men after 50 secs when Donaldson was pulled back in the area. Unfortunately, he subsequently missed the penalty. From then on the ref seemed intent on levelling up the numbers and we needed to be careful. Goals from Saunders & Donaldson soon had us well in control and comfortable. Donaldson booked in his celebrations as he removed his shirt to reveal a message for his recently deceased mother. Another good game from BWP and a debut for Leicester Loanee Liam Moore in central defence. Rosler has made the changes he promised from Saturdays disappointment against Walsall with Bidwell, Logan (bench), Trotta (bench) and Forrester all missing out. Craig moved to LB and Saunders replacing Trotta with Donaldson up top with BWP. Anyway, a comfortable first half was again interrupted by HT. We started the second half a bit jittery, defending deeper and deeper. However, on around 50 mins Forshaw receives the ball just outside the Crawley box, he advances and neatly jinks left to beat the CB who clearly brings Adam down for what was a stonewall penalty. Amazingly, the Ref realised it was a previously booked player and couldn't get his cards out quick enough to book Forshaw for diving. An incredible decision !!! 10 mins later ex-bee Ncky Adams scores a screamer to pull one back and make the rest of the game a bit 'squeaky bum time' but the Bees hold on for an important 3 points. D gets me home at 11pm
