Our first 3rd round outing since my first ever United game, and we draw another plumb tie in Everton. My father desperately tried to raise me as a Toffee, and he watched the game with intrigue as a former CUFC journalist on a stream in Thailand. The atmosphere, in what I must say is a truly awful away section, was amazing. The Blues fans were in full voice and things started horribly as Adam Clayton gave the ball away under no pressure early on. However minutes later it was to be Clayton who inspired the equaliser. Livesey hit the bar off a corner which the 4000 away fans seemed sure was destined for the net. That was the big chance gone, as Everton finally broke the resistance with a flukey Tim Cahill goal, and an injury-time penalty. Unfair gloss to a surprisingly close encounter. Scintillating away day, great advert for the FA Cup.
