Wardy should have been with us on this trip, but shockingly he passed away in his sleep a week or so beforehand. He was aged 30!! He'd been playing 5-a-side with his mates earlier in the evening, went to bed and simply didn't wake up. He was Jon's mate but the four of us have been to a good few grounds over the last few years, so me and Andy knew him reasonably well. Jon decided we should still go to Bournemouth as planned as a kind of tribute to him and we raised a glass to him in the British Legion club at Bournemouth. Jon's attending the funeral on Monday. Despite the circumstances and to lighten the mood, I downloaded what if I say so myself was the best set of footy quiz questions we've ever had for an away day! Highlight was the 'story' populated by team names and the classic 'Udders feeled' haha we pissed ourselves for a good few miles after that! Game was a classic bore draw. Nice part of the country but a hell of a jaunt so glad we got that one ticked off. Don't get me started about the jobsworth on the social club door!!
