Call me old-fashioned. Call me a sentimentalist. Call me whatever, but I love Fratton Park south stand. It is old as the hills (perhaps older), antiquated, made of wood, the entrance (at the end of a terraced street) is historic and the inside (cobble-tiled floor) more like a Victorian stable than a football ground BUT (huge BUT) it has real atmosphere. Charlie''s comment - It''s so old I''m expecting to see the match in black and white. Brilliant!!!! Great local pie - more like a steak pudding with a pastry top. A lot of pie. Very filling. Our seats were directly behind a roof support but it didn''t matter. Even half full the atmosphere was great and the home fans on the Fratton End were brilliant. The Pompey Chimes, the drummers, the bell-ringing and absolutely appalling trumpeting of John Portsmouth Football Club Westwood, the birdy-birdy song and dance in honour of Brian Bird and so on and on. Oustanding and a delight. Would certainly go again given the chance. Loved it loved it loved it.
