Nearly 4 hours drive (non-stop) to the airport Premier Inn and then straight into town for a pint at O'Neills which looks like the best place in town. A walk back to the Blue Boar which is definitely not the best place in town but very friendly and relaxed. I couldn't understand the locals but it didn't matter. Lots of Britol fans in there and one unable to get across to the barmaid that he wanted fooahwrrr zzoyderrrrs.
Ground small and quaint - especially the 2-tier south stand behind the goal. Everybody sitting in the wrong seats so we sat in the hospo/directors' reserved seats - which was nice because they all had cushions.
Football awful but not nearly as nasty as the shrimp mascot. And they have a very good drummer. And sitting along the row fropm us were two men dressed in complete suits of armour. At half time they were doing a fighting demonstration (absolutely awful) but one of them couldn't bend down to pick up his helmet so had to ask the woman sitting in front, could you grab my helmet for me, please.
Long walk back to the hotel (30 mins) with Charlie's feet hurting all the way. Wrong boots again. My fault, of course for not telling her about the length of walk. Early to bed. Good chldren.
