| This was the first international played in Belfast since 1971 because of the political situation (The Troubles).
It was played on a Wednesday afternoon because the floodlights at Windsor Park weren''t up to international standard (whatever that was). The ground wasn''t up to much either!
I was only 10 years old and we all got the afternoon off school to go or not to go to the game but as I grew up only a Pat Jennings throw from Windsor Park, I wasn''t missing this.
I don''t know if the Yugoslavs had any famous names in their team that day but we had big Pat, Pat Rice, Sammy Nelson, Sammy McIlroy & Martin O''Neill in our line up.
We won 1-0, thanks to a flukey goal by one of our future managers, Bryan Hamilton and this schoolboy went home very happy.
I haven''t missed too many games since. Norn Iron!
