In London anyway and for a tenner admission thought this was a bit of a no brainer, cup fixture, Championship opposition. With the weather somewhat intermittent and knowing I was missing the UEFA Super Cup by watching this game, I did fear how worthwhile the night would be. In the end it was a surreal evening, 4-4 after full time, 6-6 after extra time with Brentford getting through 2-4 on pens in the end. Some shoddy defending was the main contributer to the goalfest on the night, but it was a really high tempo game, and three of Dagenham's goals were, especially the 4th one, superb strikes. To witness Jamie Cureton score having done so much as this level over the years was a bonus. The ground and surrounding area is nothing to shout about, but good atmosphere in the terraces and some good banter from the supporters. Apparently the joint highest scoring league cup game ever - so certainly did pick one nutty game.
