Match no. 1016. A barely believable game that saw 7 goals, 2 penalty saves and 4 red cards! In the first-half Needham goalie Danny Gay saved two penalties by Ware''s Matthew Mitchell in the 2nd and 44th minutes. In between times Evans scored for NM (17 mins) and Mitchell for Ware (29) to make it 1-1 at half-time. Ware increased their lead to 3-1 with goals from Dan Roles (59) and Chris Sargent (60). On 69 minutes Roles was brought down by Gay when clean through and he was red-carded (two penalty saves and a red card for the NM keeper!). Ryan Wade scored from the spot to make it 4-1. On 84 minutes Ware''s Sam Ruff was sent off for a second yellow card and 2 minutes later Parker scored for NM - 4-2. On 90 minutes Finch scored for NM and it was 4-3. But in the unseemly squabble over retrieving the ball from the net that followed, Stone and Newson of NM were both red-carded leaving them to finish the game with 8 men! These sort of games only seem to happen in non-league football.
