What a brilliant weekend. Set off on Friday (my birthday) with Chaz and Jack (in his new car) leaving Suey at home with a bad back. Lunch in Durham (El Coto) and then on to Newcastle. Drinks and dinner and drinks.
Saturday walk up to St James for an early ko so into the hospo for 10:45. Park Lane Grill. Very expensive but great. My sirloin steak was spectacular. Lots more to drink and a really good game watched from excellent seating in the Gallowgate End. It really is an excellent stadium for football and, despite being low on 2 sides, it generates really good atmosphere.
A few more drinks on the way back tot he hotel and a veggie Chinese and we were in bed and asleep before 10.
Sunday drive back felt like a very long way.
