My first ever time wathcing Tottenham away in Europe! Flew out by myself from London City Airport on the Thursday morning at 09.30 with City Jet and met James Barker and Dan at the hotel out in Florence Time for a quick look around the city and a couple of beers before boarding the bus from the railway station to the ground which was about 3 or 4 miles away. Upon arrival we were dropped off in a completely segregated area and put through two searches and an ID check before reaching the ground where there was extremely basic facilites and an alcohol ban. We were in a section completely segregated with no home fans either side and big perspex screens to our side and in front which you could see over but several fans at the front watched the game through which was like watching a fish tank ! Quiet a cold evening. coffee at half time Spurs had a great chance to go 1 up but a shocking cock up from Soldado Fiorentina capitalised with two goals from defensive errors and we were out After the game we were kept back in the ground for at least 30 minutes and when they eventally opened the gates there was an almight stampede which was very dangerous Put on buses and again another 45 minute wait for a police escort back into the centre of florence. Very disappointing and with no trouble before or during the game quite disappointing to see. Anyway back in Florence the 3 of us went for a Pizza and a stroll around the town before bed about 2am I set my alarm for 07.30 to have breakfast at the hotel then to take myself on a little sighseeing tour of Florence which was fantastic, a beautiful city Flight home about 1 back to City Airport. Train back to Dorking, Driver back to Capel, chilled out at home for a couple of hours (laura and the girls away at Butlins) then back into London for night shift at work ! great trip
