This was on the way to promotion for Burnley and the Cardiff press had hyped it up, hence the large attendance, for Div 4, of over 16000. The game was reasonably close until Burnley scored with five minutes to go. The Bob Bank emptied at an unbelievable speed and many of the Cardiff fans went looking to damage Burnley cars and coaches. There were, apparently, running battles with police on Sloper Road and its car-parks Others went round behind the open end where most Burnley fans were, and threw bricks ansd stones over the wall. Many of the Burnley fans went out over the fence. Trouble broke out when the police tried to stop some of them, blithely ignoring the stuff coming over the wall. We were in the stand and did not get out until after 5 30. Madness.
