I last attended the Meadow sometime in the early 70''s. Sharpness and Cadbury Heath were going head to head for the Gloucestershire County League title. On a balmy April night Sharpness lost 1-0 but were controversially not awarded a penalty despite the Brimscombe goalkeeper kneeing Chris Green in the wherewithalls. Cadbury Heath won the title. Nowadays the Meadow has been developed but remains a beautiful little ground, even in the pouring rain! A good following from Sussex urged their team on but a goalkeeping error saw B & T go ahead and a couple of minutes later he had to be substituted after injuring himself. Smith scored a second and with 5 minutes remaining, Pitt dispatched a penalty after the goalkeeper had felled him.
