Tranmere PLD 1 W0 D0 L1 GF0 GA1. Early kick off for BT sports coverage, saw a good start from rovers hitting the crossbar in the first few minutes. Three enforced changes saw Kirby, Harris and Stephenson start however Kirby landed awkwardley on his ankle and both he and Harris after a foul were forced off early in the first half injured and it all went pear shaped from there. Sutton scored early in the second half when Fitchett headed home from close range. Rovers offered nothing up front with little service from midfield and the last sub Mekki pulled up holding his hamstring and had to leave his team mates with only ten men for the last 15 minutes. A long day and sections of rovers support were only too keen to call for Brabins head using the fact that Sutton chose not to segregate the fans to move behind his dugout for full vocal effect. The one positive was that Sutton where great hosts with a friendly welcoming approach to there guests although having no plan for the coach parking or picking up the fans after the match led to chaos and an unneccesary 30minute delay when one suppoerter got lost trying to hunt it down!

Good day for football overall given the outcome of the day. As the game kicked off at 12:15 due to BT Sport coverage I had to get to the ground much earlier than usual. I left home just before 10:00 and got the bus to Streatham Station. I then got the 10:20 train from Streatham to West Sutton. Got to the ground at about 10:45 ish and started to sell the programmes as per usual. Finished selling them about 10 mins after KO and from what I saw of that 10 mins Tranmere were on top and hit the bar within 30 secs of kick off. Once I got my lunch I stood behind the goal in the Collingwood Rec end and it was a fairly even first half from what I saw but if anything we edged the half and were the better side apart from the first 10 mins. I would say it''s the most competitive half I''d seen this season and the only team that we hadn''t dominated. Changed ends for the 2nd half and stood behind the goal at the Gander Green Lane end. We started the 2nd half very well and scored within 2 mins of the restart right in front of where I was standing. We dominated the entire 2nd half and we should have added to our lead but for poor communication or decision making. Tranmere didn''t really threaten us in the 2nd half and I wasn''t too nervous as we looked relatively comfortable with our lead. Left the ground about 5-10 mins after FT as I''d just missed the train so I clapped the players and manager off the pitch after the deserved win. I got the 14:31 train back to Streatham and got the 333 back from Streatham Station to home and got back at about 15:10 ish to watch Jeff Stelling and see the scores come in and Norwich win which capped off the day nicely.
