Bromsgrove Sporting''s hopes of an extended cup run in the Polymac Packaging League Cup came to an abrupt end at the hands of Premier Division Sporting Khalsa. Bromsgrove who had beaten their higher league opponents in a pre season game took the game to Khalsa but were unable to gain an advantage despite coming close on several occasions. Khalsa took the lead in the 28th minute when former Rousler Tesfa Robinson found himself unmarked at the far post following a corner. Khalsa increased their lead 12 minutes into the second half when Nick Turton converted. Despite plenty of pressure and a couple of fine saves from keeper Tom Turner Bromsgrove could just not get back into the game. Sporting Khalsa made the game safe when another former Rousler, Luke Shearer earned and converted a penalty with 5 minutes left.
