Match no. 666. Having sacked John Lyall following relegation the West Ham board seemed to decide to appoint a manager, Lou Macari, who was as far removed from Lyall as you could get. No previous connection to West Ham and a playing style that was the complete opposite of the West Ham tradition. However Hammers won this one with a brace from Stuart Slater.
