Left home at about 12:30 and walked to Tooting station. Realised when I got to the end of Links Road that I could make the 12:41 train and legged it round the corner to get the train. Arrived at the ground at about 13:00 ish and went in the bar to watch part of the Lincoln game on BT but found out that it was HT. By the time the 2nd half started, it was time for me to start selling programmes at the Gander Green Lane End. Finished selling at about 14:40 and had to run round to the Collingwood end to collect a load more. Finished with the programmes just a few minutes into the game as was walking round to get a drink as Coombes out one in the top corner after about 5 mins to put us 1-0 up. While getting a tea we extended our lead and I managed to miss the goal which was scored by May. Apparently it was another very good finish from outside the box. Went and sat down in my seat for the 1st half. We played some lovely football throughout the 1st half with quick pass and move all over the pitch. Chester weren't that bad considering they were 2-0 down and haven't won for a long period of time. They also moved the ball well and had a couple of chances to get back in the game. However, about 5 mins before HT, JC managed to place a beauty of a free kick into the top corner which, with respect put the game beyond Chester. Went and stood behind the goal for the 2nd half and we came out the traps quickly and Coombes managed to double his goal tally for us within a minute of HT. Bailey scored a cracker with about 15-20 mins left of the game to make it 5-0 and it looked as if we were the side to score again by playing some lovely flowing football. Chester got one back from a mistake by Puddy in goal, again confirms my thought that Warner should come back ASAP. They managed to score a 2nd a couple of mins later and with 10 mins I started to get worried that the impossible was possible. Chester's goalscorer for both goals then missed what looked like a sitter at the back post and the game phased out. That win mathematically confirms our survival for this season and puts us in 11th place. Very promising performance and shows that big things could occur next season. Got the 17:10 train back and got back home just after 17:45.
