Barnet 1-10 Arsenal Hat-tricks by strikers Jose Antonio Reyes and Francis Jeffers saw Arsenal rout Conference side Barnet. Gunners keeper Manuel Almunia conceded early on when Richie Graham converted Ian Hendon''s right-wing cross. But three goals in a 23-minute spell by Reyes, a thunderbolt by Robin van Persie and a Dennis Bergkamp effort put Arsenal back on track by half time. Jeffers stole the show in the second half, while Bergkamp netted again and Quincy Owusu-Abeyie made it 10-1. Arsenal suffered a surprise early set-back against Barnet, when Graham tucked away his shot just inside Almunia''s right-hand post. But the impressive Reyes stunned the home fans with a virtuoso first-half display of attacking football. Reyes ran on to Van Persie''s superb through-ball, skipped around Barnet keeper Shane Gore and rolled home his first on 19 minutes. Moments later, he met Jermaine Pennant''s low cross towards the near post with a first-time side-foot shot that whistled past keeper Gore. Van Persie took centre stage in the 27th minute with a rocket shot from outside the corner of the area that flew high into the net. Jeffers on song Reyes and Van Persie combined again when the former ran on to the Dutchman''s pass, cut inside his marker and beat Gore. Dennis Bergkamp stroked home from just outside area a minute before the break. After the interval, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger made six changes but they did affect the Gunners'' goalscoring capabilities. Substitute Jeffers, who spent last season on loan at Everton, caught the eye, scoring three times in a 19-minute period. He converted his first after Bergkamp expertly hooked the ball back into his path. Jeffers nodded in a second, before crashing home his third from Ray Parlour''s through-ball. Bergkamp curled home one of his trademark free- kicks to make it nine, with Owusu-Abeyie scoring on the turn to complete the drubbing. This was Jeffers and Parlour''s last game for Arsenal.
