With the way Liverpool and Sunderland are respectively playing this season I thought this would be an ideal time to take in a game at Anfield. Liverpool on fire with genuine quality throughout the side, my team Sunderland struggling and looking unlikely to stay in the division. Always knew how compact the ground was from aerial shots but it really is a tight setup for such a massive club, all adds to the immense communal spirit the club has. The atmosphere when LFC fans wanted to sing and make noise was the loudest I've heard in a ground to date. With the Hillsbrough memorial outside the ground, references to the clubs great history all around and a family zone with decent live band playing it was a emotional and memorable matchday ahead of the kick off. The game itself was really enjoyable, we were a good match for them in the first half hour before a free kick and deflected effort respectively saw us off either side of half time, typical Sunderland. Gave it a right go last twenty minutes, got a goal back which was great to witness in the away end. Both teams created and had chances, a draw would have been immense.
