Match no. 1310. A superb cup-tie. Stevenage went 2-0 up, Swindon pulled it back to 2-2 only for Boro to retake the lead with an excellent volley by Tom Pett in the 3rd minute of added time at the end of the first half. Both teams continued to go for it in the second-half and it was Danny Newton who came on as a sub and scored twice to wrap it up, the second a brilliant solo run from the half-way line that saw him power past several challenges before rounding the goalkeeper and slotting it in. Swindon''s frankly horrible green & white check design on their away shirt made it impossible to decipher their sponsor''s name. This was the first time I''d seen Swindon play for 25 years (Match no. 753 - West Ham 0-1 Swindon - 24.10.1992). Also my 50th Stevenage win (all games). Fifty years ago today - Match no. 59 - West Ham 3-0 Sheffield United - 2.12.1967.
