A long but beautiful drive across the Peak District in brilliant sunshine to my chosen pub THAT WAS CLOSED DOWN !!!! Luckily found another place just up the road and had a very tasty dinner before driving on to the ground (free parking directly opposite the front gate - hurrah!!) Nice compact little stadium. No frills but everything just right. Cooper's gone, y'know said one then another, then another local supporter to the bemused us. Gone t' Leeds !! Pah, we replied. No real mascot on show, just a huge blob of blood on very wobbly legs. He/she looked more in need of a wee than a circuit of the ground collecting money (or blood). Bloomin' good game. End to end, both teams organised and us, the underdogs, taking the lead twice before losing to power in the end. Our manager started shouting instructions from minute one as if his entire team had an attention span of seconds and had already forgotten the changing room instructions. By half way through the first half his voice was going and he was already resorting to sign language that the team appeared not to understand. An amusing side story. Long but easy enough drive home making this a very very enjoyable night out.
