The City under Micky Adams were still in contention of a play off place but a victory against bottom of the league Crewe was a must. Remembering arriving outside the away end and walking on the wall whilst me Dad order the ''best'' Meat and potato pie. TheCity fans filled the away end and were confident of an away win- however what we actually witnessed was again, one of the worst performances from a City teams. Remember McSheffrey who in the second half was playing on the left wing getting dogs abuse, and almost being the man to blame by the City fans whom at Crewe were within touching distance of the players for such a shocking performance. In the end, Crewe still went down, and City missed out soundly on a play off place but did finish in 8th position after a last day win against Cardiff at the Ricoh (3-1)- our highest postion in the Championship to date
