Match no. 13. First visit to Upton Park, first FA Cup tie and first senior West Ham match. Went with two schoolmates. Stood in the West Enclosure. John Byrom scored a hat-trick for Blackburn. Jimmy Bloomfield scored West Ham''s first goal, the only one of his Hammers career. Over-riding memory is of West Ham wingers Brabrook and Sissons sending a stream of crosses into the Blackburn area and Mike England heading them all clear. Blackburn won the replay 4-1 at Ewood Park.
