Left my house in Chester at about 16:30 and walked to Chester station. Got the 17:02 train to Altrincham and then got the tram to Old Trafford stop. Walked about 10 mins to get to the ground and got there at about 18:45 ish. Walked round the ground and then went into the ground and sat down about 19:00. The game itself was an unbelievable game which was one of the best games I've seen for a long time. Man Utd opened the scoring after about 2 mins from great play by Martial down the left flank before the ball was worked across the box to Mata who slotted it into the bottom corner. Man Utd had a couple of chances within the first 15-20 mins to increase their lead but couldn't take them. Derby were still playing some very good football and dominated the game after about 20 mins. They got their equaliser in the 2nd half through an unbelievable free kick right in front of me through Harry Wilson. It was the least they deserved and managed to take the lead 5 mins before the end through Jack Marriott's header. Derby deserved to win the game given that Man Utd were an embarrassment throughout the game but managed to get an equaliser through Fellaini in the last minute to send the game to penalties. The penalties were all good quality until Jones stepped up for United and lost the tie for them. Justice was served given Derby were the better side throughout the whole game. Walked back to Old Trafford tram stop and got the tram back to Altrincham before getting the train back to Chester and a taxi back to my house getting back at about 00:30.
