End of Season:- Macclesfield Town managed to avoid relegation by drawing 1-1 at home with Cambridge United on the last day of the season and seeing Notts County lose 3-1 away at Swindon. Macc finished 22nd with 44 points. Colchester United finished one place and one point outside the playoffs (8th, 70 points). Notts County, one of the founder members of the Football League, finished 23rd on 41 points and were relegated to the National League with Yeovil Town who finished bottom with 40 points. They will be replaced by Leyton Orient and Salford City, who beat AFC Fylde in the National League play-off Final
