A perennial struggle. Whilst i''m proud of the long record of not missing a home game in the league or cup for many a year I probably average two thirds of away games with rovers, however having done the 92 I sometimes like to do a new game or ground as a neutral but this is a decision not taken lightly. Today rovers were at Colchester(won 2-0) i''d seen us play games at both their old and new grounds winning on both but still had bitter memories of travelling one boxing day only to be told half an hour after arriving that the game was off due to a waterlogged pitch. Having heard fresh rumours of St Albans possibly relocating I decided to stay down south for the weekend with my dad, I think he was happy with the bottle of wine he won in the half time raffle and I was happy to talk briefly with paul merson at the game watching his son playing for the saints. Another player in the side was tom bender, I was at the match between Accrington and Tranmere that was abandoned when he suffered a serious head injury whilst he was on loan(ironically from Colchester). Ever decreasing circles! As for the game it was a classic game of two halves saints had a goal harshly ruled out for offside before hitting the bar and then taking the lead it felt like they had 80% possession but Gloucester missed two great chances to score. Second half city took the game to their hosts and scored twice, this for the side with the fewest goals in the division, albeit saints have suffered with a host of bad injuries which had depleted their squad. Finally their had been a minutes applause for their former player Michael Thalassitis who had sadly died the week before
