Flew into Belfast that morning. Once the airport bus arrived in the city centre i caught another coach on to Larne. On arrival I headed to the football club grabbing a chip butty on the way. The sky cameras were setting up for the televised game so the ground was open however i spoke to the secretary whom i corresponded by email previously he was welcoming and happy for me to take pictures before checking into my B&B about a twenty minute walk away. The road was a busy duel carriageway but the path running alongside was pleasant alongside the loch although the Irish have a different word for it. Arrived early and sat in the main stand having made sure i wasn''t to far back for a post to block my view, talk is they have ambitious plans for a new three tier stand with the owner being the the founder of the property company purple bricks. The first half saw both teams cancel each other out. A moment of madness from the home keeper led to a mass melee before Larne looked to have sealed the win with a late goal (Nasseri 78)although Linfield equalised with a few minutes left(Stewart 88) in front of there delirious fans. After the game i waited around for former Tranmere player Jeff Hughes, we grabbed a drink and had a chat before he offered to drop me back at my accommodation. A great start to my week.
