Went for a bit of bank holiday groundhopping. Left home at about 13:00 and got the bus to Tooting Broadway before getting the tube up to Finchley Central. I then got the bus from outside the tube station to the ground getting there at about 14:20. The ground itself is a very good looking one, having been listed as one of the 100 grounds to go to in Britain with a unique stand that has a rugby stand built onto the back of it. The game itself was between two of the relegation threatened sides and it was a very fast paced game with both sides looking to win the game. Wingate managed to take the lead within 15 mins through an unbelievable strike from about 40 yards out which was whipped into the goal. They then managed to double there lead after about 25 mins after a long ball upfield wasn''t dealt with well enough which allowed Wingate to go in at the break 2-0 up. Thurrock came out in the second half looking to get back in the game and had a few chances but defending at the back let them down around the 70th minute which allowed Wingate to put the game out of sight. They then managed to pick off their opponents and added a fourth five minutes later. In the 90th minute of the game another stunner was scored from the edge of the box by Wingate to seal the 5-0 win. Walked to the bus stop and got the bus to East Finchley station before getting the tube back down to Tooting Broadway and then the bus home, getting in at about 18:10.
