I thought I''d visit this ground in Chiswick that used to be called The Civil Servants Sports Ground and was opened by King George V in 1926. It has obviously been rebuilt since then and I didn''t see any commerative plaque or anything. It is now a 35-acre sports complex and I saw cricket and tennis being played as well as football, of course. The 3G football pitch is tucked into the corner nearest the River Thames. Not many spectators but I chatted to most. As for the match, Chiswick scored first from a penalty against the run of play, but Real Dundonald always looked the better and fitter team.
