Burnley were about to be relegated to the 3rd division for the first time and Leicester were on for the newly added third promotion place, which indeed, they took. Nevertheless Burnley put in a battling performance in which an athletic young full-back called Dixon was outstanding. Hope for the future. regrettably not so. John Bond was appointed manager and after one game flogged Lee Dixon to Chester. What a judge of a player!
