This was the 65th final for a competition that was first played before WW2 but has sometimes been suspended because of coid, fixture congestion and war. A good atmosphere at the Len Salmom Stadium. Crown Avenue is a good 30 minutes walk from Pitsea station and the match kicked- off late so I missed the last-minute winner by leaving early to catch my train back home.
