Even first half. Salim gave the away team a 10th minute lead cutting in from the right and beating the keeper at his near post with a low shot. Walsh equalised with a fine shot from outside the box into the top corner. The second half largely belonged to the hosts and a low cross from the left was hit home from six yards(Elstone). Maine road had a purple patch whem they were unfortunate to have an equaliser ruled out for a foul on the keeper when it looked the other way around and shortly after had a scramble which was cleared but the ball was hit from fully 30 yards crashing against the bar. The hosts however finished strongly Gardener lobbed the keeper from just inside the halfway line 90+4, not the first time the keeper had gone walkabout. Hare rounded off the scoring 90+6 after the ref played an advantage the ball was passed out to the right and the low cross was finished from 12 yards. There was still time for the home no3 to hit the post.
