Fine persistent rain fell throughout the 90 minutes. Lairds impressed in the first half with a high press and took an early lead with a low shot from twenty yards just inside the post (catesby 4) and missed two headers which looked easier to score with nomads having a similar effort in the closing minutes of the half. The second half was more evenly matched and (Pouncy 47) equalised turning in a low left wing cross. (Eaton 73) looked to have set the visitors on the way to victory but the game seemed to turn on it''s head firstly Morton 90+1 seemed to have rescued a hardly deserved point as a cross from the left was turned against the far post with the rebound fired home but Jones 90+2 seemed to have stolen all the points when given the freedom of the park down the centre and fired his one on one past the advancing keeper. Lairds were not to be denied though and got their reward for pressing on as the minutes ticked away Smith 90+5. Having led for long periods i think they will be disappointed with only taking a point home.
