Brighton were sent crashing out of the JPT after losing on penalites, following a 1-1 aggregate scoreline over two legs. On the night the hosts were the better side, helped by the first half sending off of David Livermore, and were unlucky not to win in normal time, although Brighton's defence held firm and managed to restrict the Hatters to mostly long range attempts.
This was my first visit to Kenilworth Road and I really loved the ground. It was helped a lot by a simply fantastic atmosphere in the visitors end, with a sell out crowd attending hoping to see Brighton book a place at Wembley. The ground oozes character, with the famous 'turnstiles in a front room' away entrance and a lovely compact 'old ground' feel. It will be a real shame if Luton manage to move out, and a real shame that the club look likely to be relegated from the football league.
