Comments :
Simple single train from Crewe and under 20 minutes walk to the ground. What a scruffy little number it is. Car park like wasteland and mostly corrugated iron fencing. Inside not much better but lovely artificial pitch in perfect condition. And I have to say the home supporters were friendly and fun. But was it ever cold. I simply cannot remember physically shivering at a footy match but I certainly was here. Good game too. Easy to see why Tamworth (The Lambs) are top of the league. Very solid, fast and skilful. And the centre forward *Dan Creaney) was a mighty handful holding the ball up really well and laying off classily. Spennymoor must have been the tallest team I have ever seen with 8 or 9 of them well over six feet tall. Hard men too making the match a proper battle. Glad I wasn''t playing !!! One very funny moment. Tamworth won a free kick just outside the box. As the Spennymoor keeper tried to line up the wall a Tamworth player stood in his line of sight. Every time the keeper moved to get a better view the Tamworth ''blocker'' moved too. They skipped back and forth back and forth. It was very funny. Had to leave a bit early to catch the train home only for it to be delayed by half an hour. But once aboard it was just 40 minutes back to Crewe and home by seven. All in all a jolly good (cold!!!) day out.
