Comments :
Very impressive stadium. Regrettably they only allowed home fans into the end behind one goal, which made for a strange atmosphere, as elsewhere there were just 100 or so Crewe fans in one far corner and a few corporates/VIPs near halfway. The stand rakes up at a sharp angle which was great since it gives you an elevated view without placing you too far from the pitch. Ground is close to the town centre. Friendly staff. Rotherham started well, but Crewe were dangerous with their occasional breaks. HT 0-0. Rotherham continued to look the better side but Crewe took the lead on 50 mins, with a fine long-range effort from 19 year old Matus Holicek (capped at youth level by Slovakia). However, Millers soon equalised and a penalty shoot-out was looming until Rotherham won the tie with an untidy goal in the 85th minute. The floodlights of the old Millmoor ground, a mile or two away, are still standing and can be seen from just outside the new ground.
