Match no. 1456: Hertford Town made this a celebration day to mark the 93rd birthday of long-standing volunteer John Staines. And what a day it was! Entry was free with the aim of achieving an attendance of at least 1000. Which they did. There was a presentation to John on the pitch at half-time with the Mayor, the local MP and even the Town Crier present. The match itself was a goal feast. Flackwell scored in the first minute and by the 12th minute it was 3-1 to Hertford with Heath making it 3-2 on 16 minutes. Another goal each made it 4-3 at half-time. But Flackwell dominated the second-half, equalising on 61 minutes and then scoring twice in the last quarter of an hour to claim a 6-4 victory.
