Comments :
A good game in foul weather. Brentford were ahead for much of the game but lost it late on, missing a late penalty to re-take a deserved point. Igor Thiago had scored from the spot in the first half but had his second pen saved. Liked the ground, in particular the padded seats even though we were in a less expensive section of the ground near a corner flag and adjacent to the away fans. Mind you my padded seat was also spattered with bird poo when I reached it. Well I suppose it is the home of The Seagulls! Arriving 40 minutes early we had a quick look at the Club Shop - very smart and quite large occupying 2 floors. Rain started just before kick-off and continued through the whole game, and beyond. Even though we were 9 rows up from the front row of seats we got spasmodic drenchings as the swirling northerly wind brought the rain in under the roof. Our section of the ground was largely populated by Japanese fans, decked out in Brighton''s colours. Perhaps they had come to see Japan''s Mitoma play. Unfortunately he was out injured. Got there by train to Falmer station which sits very close to the ground. Left the ground before the end to beat the queues for the trains, but failed. Had to wait quite a while on a rainy platform to catch the train back to Brighton station (10 minute ride). Nevertheless it was a good day out. This was my 88th current league ground, with only 4 left to do.
