Cold morning, caught 6.50 (375811) from B Sth. Bought £9.90 London Midland Day Rover to go to Shrewsbury. Caught 7.46 from Euston (350256), change Northampton for 8.55 (350265) for B''rum New St, arr 10.01, then 10.05 (170502) to Shrewsbury arr 11.15. Sunny but cool breeze, found a cafe and had liver & bacon lunch with a cuppa (£6.05). Walked thru town to the Three Fishes pub for a pint and pork pie, saving half for halftime at the match. Asked at a mens outfitters where I could buy a flat cap, and was directed to Majors, an old fashioned outfitters. Friendly salesman took £6 of the £35 price for me. Walked to the Dingle (the sunken garden) and sat out of the wind in the sunshine, and read my book for a while. Then via footpaths to the Greenhous Meadow stadium to collect my £14 ticket I''d pre booked. Had a good seat one row from back of main stand, and chap next to me was talkative and answered my questions.
Colchester got off to a quick start, scoring after 3 mins, and Arsenal loanee, Sanchez Watt scored a second a few minutes after coming on as sub on 62mins. Shrews Asa Hall scored on 79 and 82 mins to earn a point, a relief to the home fans.
252 Colchester fans attended.

Nice new stadium. Shrewsbury looked in danger of losing 2-0 until two corners gave them two goals.
