Match no. 1209. A bizarre sort of game. Stevenage dominated the first-half but turned round only 2-1 ahead having missed two penalties, taken by different players but both saved by the Morecambe keeper. In the second-half Chris Whelpdale completed an excellent hat-trick and Boro were cruising at 4-1 but, with less than 10 minutes left, the ref awarded Morecambe a soft penalty which they converted to make it 4-2. Panic stations ensued in the Boro defence but they managed to hold out until well into added time before Morecambe scored again with what turned out to be the last kick of the match.
