Ground number 90 out of 92 is done Brighton and Hove Albion I decided to arrange a nice weekend for this trip and collected Heather and a Daniel Carn on the way. Daniel from Nottingham and Heather from Sidcup. The journey took longer than expected but we were in Newhaven and Seaford at about 2330. I stayed at Premier Inn whilst Heather and a Daniel stayed at Granny Carn’s house. The next morning I had breakfast in McDonalds and then set off for Seaford. I briefly met Mrs Carn and then we were on our way to Brighton. Once there it took a short while to find somewhere to park but eventually we were ready to explore. We went down to a very blustery beach and messed about with the waves. Daniel ended up with wet feet. After that we explored the pier and took loads of photographs. It was great fun. We almost decided to go up a huge ride but it was considered too expensive. Instead we found a small cafe and had a drink. My banana milk shake was great. It had caramel drizzled in it. Heather and a Daniel both had hot chocolate. We continued back towards the car and then found a great little restaurant for some lunch. The seafood chowder was amazing. daniel’s burger also looked good. Heather had a huge plate of nachos but could only eat half of them. We found the car and were then on our way. At the ground there was only reserved parking but we discovered we could use a free park and ride bus service. It was really easy and a great idea. We were an hour early and after a quick look around the club shop we met up with our ticket deliverers. Once inside the ground Daniel bought a £4.40 pint of lager. I was keeping an eye on Grimsby Town’s match at Yeovil which they won 3-1. Once inside the ground I was impressed. It had two large curve roofed side stands each two tier and single tier seating behind each goal. The match kicked off and Brighton looked the better side. Two shots were saved and pressure mounted. However against the run of play a mistake was made. Brighton’s defender slipped and Chris Woods banged in Burnley’s first goal. For all of Brighton’s endeavour they could not produce a goal. The best player in my opinion was Bong up the left wing. So at half time we hoped for a better second half. It did not happen. Burnley defended well. Then a second goal was scored, again by Chris Woods. Later on salt was rubbed into the wound, Brighton should have been given a penalty for hand ball and 30 seconds later Burnley were given a penalty themselves! They scored it. Later on a consolation goal was scored but it was too late. A smash and grab victory by Burnley. 68% possession by Brighton. Daniel Carn was unhappy. 6 matches he has seen but never seen his team win. We queued up for our bus in the rain. I had found a program and gave it to Daniel. At the car we had all started to get cold. However by the time we were back at Lewes we had warmed up ready for a wonderful Chinese meal in the Castle restaurant. Shredded duck of course and then I had pork and cashew nuts in yellow bean sauce with extra crispy seaweed. I delivered back to Granny Carns and then headed back to my Premier Inn. What a fantastic day it had been.

First time at the Amex and was excited before the game. Stadium was pretty full and I really liked it, lovely new stadium with good facilities and comfortable padded seats. Paid £4.50 for a pint which isn''t too bad at this level. Thought Brighton started out the better side but a defensive error and it was 0-1 Burnley. Brighton had a few good chances and Heaton had a very good game but ultimately Burnley were better and scored another 2 goals. A good free kick to Duffy gave Brighton a late consolation goal but ultimately the game was over. Disappointed as still haven''t seen Brighton win but a good day and a lovely ground. I will definitely go again.
