Match no. 607. The last game that I was able to see in West Ham''s most successful ever season in the League. Prior to the game Hammers stood in 5th place, 7 points behind leaders Liverpool with 3 games in hand, eventually finishing 3rd, 4 points behind the Reds. Unfortunately, 9 days after this game I suffered appendicitis and was unable to attend any further matches that season, including Hammers 8-1 win v Newcastle that took place while I was coming round from my operation.
