An early start leaving just after 7am proved prudent with wind and rain and traffic problems coming to a grinding halt on the M6 around Morecombe which added about 40minutes to the journey. Alloa has proved my unluckiest ground in Scotland as I had passed the ground on my way to stenhousemuir many years ago when the ground was in it''s pomp before it was redeveloped(this time around I called in at stenny for a photo opportunity) my first attempt at a game hit the buffers as the cup game against Aberdeen was all ticket and despite heavy rain driving some fans out of the ground they wouldn''t let me in and the next game against Morton was abandoned in the second half due to snow. This game was a fairly even affair with both teams taking too long to take their chances. The blue skies and view onto the rolling hills behind was a nice backdrop but a gusty wind wasn''t conducive to attractive football. Alloa had a strong appeal for a penalty turned down early on but a second half strike by Dunfermlines Anderson saw them into the play off picture whilst leaving Alloa rock bottom of the league. With it being only half an hour between the two towns a large following from Dunfermline was in attendance filling a large section of the terrace behind the goal and the seated section in the horrible seated area (one of those akin to Bristol rovers cobbled together with lots of support posts to hinder your view)
