Match no. 423. Easter Saturday and a second home game in 2 days for West Ham. Chelsea led 1-0 at half-time but after about 65 minutes they lost goalkeeper John Phillips with a head injury sustained in a collision with Hammers'' Bill Green. Chelsea sub Tommy Langley had already been used and it was he who went in goal with the Blues down to 10 men. Even then it took the Hammers 15 minutes to equalise through Trevor Brooking with further goals coming from Green and Holland in the last 3 minutes to clinch an undeserved victory.
