GROUND HISTORY adapted from "The Ultimate Directory of English & Scottish Football League Grounds"

Located within Stanley Park, the ground was further out, eastwards from the town than Blackpool FC's previous venue at Raikes Hall. The Park itself was a 24 acre enclosure around the perimeter of which ran a racecourse. A cricket pitch and pavilion were located in the centre and there was a cinder covered oval trotting and cycling track at the west end of the site. By the time that the club arrived here the trotting track had been out of use for some years and was rapidly decaying. From contemporary accounts it would appear that the pitch itself was located within the oval of this track, with the covered stand and a short length of uncovered seating previously installed on the west side being the only facilities. The whole site was subsequently incorporated into the Stanley Park Leisure Complex but by 2003 it had succumbed to housing.
