GROUND HISTORY adapted from "The Ultimate Directory of English & Scottish Football League Grounds"

Located on the west side of Stoney Lane, north of the town centre, West Bromwich Albion FC moved here from the nearby Four Acres in 1885. The facilities included dressing rooms and a 600 seat covered wooden grandstand (subsequently removed to The Hawthorns) flanked by two open wooden stands on the south side. Standing areas, including banking on the north side were laid with ash footings.

No further improvements were made before the club moved to The Hawthorns in 1900 and although it was used as a training ground for a while, the site remained unused until the 1980s when it succumbed to housing.
