Wouldn''t have done this ground from Chester but because of the fact that it was a 12:30 KO it was much better than doing it from London. I left my room at about 8:00 and walked to Chester station and got the train to Crewe. From Crewe I then picked up a train to Derby and then changed to get to Nottingham. Was generally an easy journey with no delays or long waits at any of the stations for my connections. I arrived in Nottingham at 11:00 and got some lunch at Tesco before walking to the ground. Was a very easy walk and took about 15 mins. Saw the City ground and didn''t realise how close the two grounds are until I got to Meadow Lane. Walked around the ground, collected my match ticket and waited for about 30 mins before I could purchase a teamsheet. I then went into the ground about 15 mins before KO. The ground itself is a very nice ground with 4 big stands. My seat was a very good seat, right along half way in front of the directors box. The game itself was a brilliant one with the second half being slightly better than the 1st. Notts had the majority of the ball in the 1st half but didn''t really created any clear cut chances but went ahead through a corner which was bundled in. When Oxford got hold of the ball they were composed and played some really good football but just lacked that ball in the final third. It was 1-0 to Notts at HT. Second half became an end to end game to a certain extent and Oxford equalised not long into the second half. Their number 10, who was orchestrated their attacks, found space in the box and his deflected shot went in. Notts went up the other end almost instantly and got a penalty which they converted to make it 2-1. Oxford again had a fair share of possession and were moving the ball well before they scored their second. Oxford''s number 9 again found space on the edge of the box and his shot went into the back of the net with about 15-20 mins left of the game. Notts then piled on the pressure and had a few chances to win the game before the ball was lofted towards the back post for them to score the winner with the last kick of the game. Harsh on Oxford City who I thought deserved a replay out of the game. Walked back to the station after the game and got the 15:10 back to Derby. My train from Derby to Crewe was slightly delayed and I was worried that I''d miss my connection back to Chester but I still had 5 mins to spare at Crewe before my train got in. I got back to my room at about 18:00.
